11 games and going strong, the varsity volleyball girls are a hard-working and passionate team ready to take on the season.

The varsity team has an upcoming home game this Tuesday against Alice and they are hoping for another Calallen win.

“I am very excited and I hope to see a lot of people there, a lot of Calallen fans,” Coach Zubia said.

Although being on varsity volleyball can be difficult at times, the players never give up on themselves or each other.

“Varsity is different than JV and freshmen because during practice we all give 100%,” first year varsity player Cameryn Persall said. “When it comes to district, we have to be on our A game.”

Despite the level of difficulty, the girls work together and function as a team and a family.

“All of my teammates are very positive and hard-workers,” junior Alyssa Rodriguez said. “We all are reaching for the same goals.”
