Students have a chance to save a person’s life by donating blood at the upcoming blood drives. It is necessary to sign up a week or two in advance before giving blood. Students must be a minimum age of 17 and over 110 lbs. Students must bring their school I.D. or driver’s license.

Before going to the blood mobiles in front of the school, it is important students check in with the nurses. The nurses are located in front of the stairwell, near the theatre arts room.

“Last August we had 100 people who donated and it helped 300 people. It’s an opportunity for students to have an impact on the community,” communications teacher Mrs. Dietrich.

Also, giving blood is a great opportunity to earn a chord for graduation.

“Students must donate 3 times, or somebody can give 5 donations for a student,” Dietrich said.

The bloodmobile will be on campus in January 24, and it will be off campus November 21 at 2 Jewels located in the 5 Points Shopping Center.
