After the homecoming game, a dance will held inside the cafeteria from 8 pm to 12 pm. The event will be informal and include a DJ, a photographer, food, and door prizes. Students are encourage to make their way towards the cafeteria after the game. Tennis coach and sophomore class sponsor Debbie Radford is behind the event.

“We had some students that went to Mrs. Neth and asked to have a dance, and Mrs. Neth was willing to start small and see if students would show interest,” Radford said.

The money raised from the tickets will not only fund the homecoming dance but serve as a fundraiser for the tennis team. Part of the funds will also go towards scholarships for graduating seniors.

“My dad passed away a few years back and I’ve been giving out scholarships in his memory for 10 years,” Radford said. “Some of this will help provide for that scholarship.”

Radford has worked hard to hold the homecoming dance, and has sold nearly a hundred tickets already.

“I really want to do this for the kids because they asked,” Radford said. “It may not be what they want right now, but it’s a start.”
